From January to the end of October this year, the airline carried 498,177 tonnes across its international network, an increase of 29% over the same period in 2015. The overall record last year was 483,000 tonnes.<\/p>\n<p>Robert van de Weg, Senior Vice President, Sales &amp; Marketing at Volga-Dnepr Group, ABC\u2019s parent company, said: \u201cOur continued strong growth is based on staying close to our customers and ensuring we support them with cargo capacity when and where they most need it. In such a challenging air cargo market, it is important to earn customer trust in the quality and reliability of your service and to demonstrate the ability to provide responsive solutions \u2013 now increasingly for special cargo categories like pharmaceuticals and oversized cargo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new record is based on tonnage flown onboard AirBridgeCargo\u2019s Boeing 747 cargo fleet and on ACMI partner aircraft. Following an order with Boeing for 20 more 747-8Fs in July, the airline took delivery of its ninth new Boeing 747-8 Freighter, taking its total fleet to 16 747Fs,<span class=\"redactor-invisible-space\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\"><span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: Arial;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: Arial;\">in September.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Furrther expansion has been seen in the airline\u2019s growing global cargo network. A new Houston-Abu Dhabi operation was followed by the introduction of all-cargo services connecting ABC\u2019s Moscow hub with Chongqing in China, Phnom Penh in Cambodia, Seattle in the US, Heathrow in the UK and, most recently, Oslo, Norway.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AirBridgeCargo Airlines has reported that 2016 is already a record-breaking year, following a further 30% year-on-year growth in tonnage in October to 57,608 tonnes.
